To ensure that every one of our dogs lives a full and happy life as a cherished family companion, we offer a thoughtfully designed Guardianship Program. In this program, the top female from a litter is selected to join a loving guardian home. At eight weeks of age, she goes to live with her guardian/co-owners, where she will spend the rest of her life as a beloved pet.
She will return to Takoda Dogs around two years of age and only after she has successfully passed all required health clearances. She comes back to us approximately one week before her due date and remains for about six weeks while she whelps, nurses, and cares for her litter. Guardians are always welcome to visit and enjoy this special time with her and the puppies.
Throughout her short breeding career, which typically concludes by the time she is about four years old, technical ownership remains with Takoda Dogs, while she continues to live with her guardian family. Once she is spayed, full ownership is transferred to her guardians permanently.
This program allows us to continue breeding the highest-quality English Cream Golden Retrievers while ensuring every dog receives the individual love, attention, and family life they deserve. The cost for guardian dogs is kept very affordable if you feel this is the right program for you.
